Federal: Contact Your Senator to Oppose S.2095 AWB
S. 2095, the so called Assault Weapons Ban of 2017, seeks to
ban standard capacity magazines and
semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and handguns.
Modern semi-automatic firearms are commonly
owned by law-abiding citizens for all sorts of legitimate purposes, and magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds of
ammunition are standard equipment on nearly all common self-defense handguns
While the bill provides an exception for firearms and magazines that
are currently lawfully possessed, it would impose strict storage and
transfer requirements on grandfathered firearms and would
punish violations of these requirements with
harsh penalties. Gun owners could face imprisonment for simply not
storing their firearms anytime they are out
of arms reach or if they loan the firearm to a
friend without taking it to a licensed
dealer to run a background check and record the transaction.
Please contact your Senator and urge them to OPPOSE S. 2095!
